About Dr. Harbour

As director of the Center for Ocular Oncology, Dr. Harbour is one of the few physicians in the country that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of eye tumors. He is actively involved in the training of medical students, residents and fellows. He also lectures at local, national and international medical and research meetings.

Dr. Harbour has been involved in cancer research since 1987, at which time he was first author of a seminal article on the retinoblastoma (Rb) gene that appeared in the journal Science. His more recent research has revealed important new insights into the molecular causes of eye cancer. In addition to taking care of patients with eye tumors, Dr. Harbour oversees the activities of a team of doctors working in the laboratory to develop new treatments for eye cancer.
